Can I sue McDonald's for abusing my job application?

There is no law protecting your privacy for information provided on an application form. It's common practice in fact for others to see your application - when I worked at a grocery store in high school we were often asked to help review applications because we'd often get so many and often there were more than enough with horrible mistakes that didn't even warrant a manager looking at them to know they should end up in the discard bin. If the applicant said they went to the same school as someone who was already employed there we'd also be asked about him or her and would often get their application to look over to make sure it accurately reflects the applicant.
