How do you install apps on android phones?

I bought an app from the android market on my samsung galaxy 5, i entered in my credit card details, and its all paid for. its not allowing me to actually install the app its just being stored in the market. when i try to install it, a title pops up saying download unsuccessful. i have installed apps before to my phone but they were all free. why wont it let me install the paid app
