Muslims, why are we closed minded?

Like the guy who wants to force his wife to pit a scarf on (btw it says to dress modestly in the Quran you don't necessarily have to interpret that as putting on a scarf) or like the guy that basically implied we shouldn't marry someone we love. And why are men who are 30 getting married to a 17 year old? Or why doesnt Saudi Arabia give women the right to drive?! I know Allah swt is equal with men and women but why do we do these things. I know this is gonna start a flame and you guys are probably really gonna get mad at this question but it's not intended to be that way.
